As Goshen College men's soccer turns 50 years old in 2008, it is time to look back on some of the numerous accomplishments of the program. Maple Leaf soccer matches have become an intrigal part of campus life and the Goshen College experience. TIMELINE:

1958 – The first-ever Goshen College men’s soccer team takes the field.

1960 – After starting the history of the program 0-8, Goshen wins its first match.

1965 – “Feet of Perfection” team finishes season undefeated at 10-0.

1966 – Galen Yoder scored five goals in win over University of Notre Dame.

1971 – Goshen makes first-ever trip to NAIA National Championships.

1973 – Goshen returns to NAIA National Championships and wins two games to finish 5th.

1975 – Abner Kisare sets school record with 25 goals and becomes first NAIA All American.

1977 – Goshen makes its third NAIA National Championship Appearance.

1978-83 – The Maple Leafs make a run of eight-consecutive MCC titles.

1983 – Joel Ryman finishes career with a program best .733 goals against average.

1998 – Kerry Escayg finishes career with program best 169 points and 66 goals.

2005 – Maple Leafs win first MCC title since 1990.

2006 – Goshen qualifies for first NAIA National Championship since 1977.
