The pair share the incredible honor of being the lone senior on their respective teams. Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams at Goshen College are full of underclassmen, while Sowers and Hartman have taken leadership roles with the young teams.

Despite being in the same situation tomorrow, their paths have been quite different.

Sowers, a Hesston, Kansas native, has a long history with Goshen College, including both parents graduating from the institution. Despite growing up in nearby Elkhart, Hartman knew little about Goshen or Mennonites in general.

Both Sowers and Hartman feel like their team is far from finished this year. They will have the chance to prove it as they take on Marian College on Saturday before heading into the Mid-Central Collegiate Conference Tournament next week.
