AT GOSHEN:
2011: Started 13 games and played in 22 as a freshman... batted .212 with a double and two runs batted in... had a 2-for-4 day with run-scoring double against Purdue North Central on 4/15/11.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Played for coach Denis Koshmider at Garaway High School... named to East District Second Team... also picked Honorable Mention Inter Valley Conference... batted .373 with 18 runs scored and struck out just three times during senior season... also played volleyball.
PERSONAL:
Parents are Dean and Betty Hershberger... has one brother, Travis (17)... chose Goshen because "it is a small campus where I can get one-on-one attention in classes"... admires Bryan Hummel "At age five he was in a serious accident and he lost his leg right above his knee. but you would never know that such a serious accident happened because he never skipped a beat. He only had to half of the therapy and was never down in the year of recovery that he had"... little known fact is "I love being with animals."
