Garner played under coach Randy Small, his father, at Schoolcraft High School, where he was a 4-sport athlete (baseball, football, and track) … He went on to play two years at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, where he was named to the MCCAA 3rd team and earned Academic All Conference honors … He chose Goshen College for its strong academic program, friendly atmosphere, and nice campus.

PERSONAL:
Parents are Randy and Connie Small, and he has four siblings: Derrick (26), Jackie (17), Savannah (15), and Walker (13) … He admires his dad because he has taught Garner everything he knows … Hist best athletic moment was going to the Junior College Nationals for basketball … His most embarrassing moment was losing in the State Finals his senior year of high school.
