GOSHEN, Ind. - The #13 team in the NAIA, Spring Arbor University, was simply too much for the Goshen College women's soccer team Saturday night as the Maple Leafs honored four seniors (Liz Berg, Nora Miller, Jennifer Snyder, and Tahnee Delp).

The Cougars opened up a 2-0 lead after less than 15 minutes and went on for a 5-1 victory in Mid-Central College Conference play.  The victory, coupled with a Grace College loss, clinched the 2011 MCC regular season title.

The leading scorer in the conference, Meagan Smith, scored three times including twice in the first 12 minutes of the second half as Spring Arbor built a 4-0 cushion before the 60-minute mark.

Goshen's lone consolation was breaking up the shutout in the 70th minute when junior Brianne Mault (Goshen, Ind.) struck from 25 yards out for her second of the season.  The Maple Leafs have now more than doubled their conference scoring output from last season.

Goshen (5-12, 1-7 MCC) was officially eliminated from the MCC postseason tournament with the loss and will conclude its season at Indiana Wesleyan University Tuesday night.
