INDIANAPOLIS — The Crossroads League named Goshen College senior Vincent Caschera its baseball  player of the week for February 27-March 6 on Monday.

Caschera went 10 for 21 (.476) during Goshen's six-game win streak last week, reaching base at least twice in every game. Four of his six hits went for extra bases while he scored five times and drove in six runs. In addition, he broke into Goshen's career top-10 lists in two more categories: he now sits ninth in runs batted in (88) and walks (71) while remaining tied for 10th in home runs.

Goshen's six-game winning streak is its first since 2005 and the fourth in the program's 61-year history; the senior from Sarnia, Ontario played on GC teams that won eight and nine games in his first two seasons while the 2017 squad has won seven of its first 15.

For the season, Caschera is hitting .373 with 19 hits and 11 runs batted in. The 7-8 Maple Leafs' home opener is set for 3 p.m. Friday in a single game against Cleary University, followed by a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday.
