UPLAND, Ind. — The Goshen College women's tennis team concluded its regular season Saturday with a 9-0 loss to Taylor University in the team's Crossroads League finale.

Taylor (8-3, 4-3) won each singles match in straight sets and the three doubles matches by identical 8-1 scores. The Trojans used nine different players to Goshen's six.

Noemi Salvador, Kendra Lozano and Megan Ewing all claimed two games in their singles matches for the Maple Leafs (0-10, 0-8). The hosts won at least one set 6-0 in every singles match, including a pair of double-bagel (6-0, 6-0) wins at no. 2 and no. 6 singles.

Because the Crossroads League has an odd number of tennis programs, each team is slated for a bye on one of the nine dates in conference play. Goshen's bye this year comes next Tuesday, the last regular match day of the season, which means the Maple Leafs are the first team to finish their CL slate.

Saturday's loss was Goshen's final chance to catch Saint Francis for the eighth and final spot in the conference's postseason tournament. USF is guaranteed to finish no worse than 1-7 in league play, which means that the 45th season of varsity women's tennis concludes with the end of the regular season.
