SPRING ARBOR, Mich. — Spring Arbor University posted a 9-0 victory over the Goshen College women's tennis team Tuesday afternoon at the Jones Tennis Complex on the SAU campus in Jackson County, Michigan.

The Cougars claimed all three doubles matches despite a valiant effort from Goshen's Kendra Lozano and Chloe Woodward at the second position. The Maple Leaf duo stayed in the match until a late break of serve led to an 8-6 loss.

In singles action, Noemi Salvador claimed a set's worth of games in her loss at the no. 1 position, a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Mary-Kate McShane. Lozano also had a 6-3 set defeat of her own, the latter half of a 6-1, 6-3 match at no. 3.

Goshen High School alumna Megan Ewing made her collegiate debut at no. 5 singles and no. 3 doubles, teaming with Chelsea Katchmazenski at the second of those positions.

The victory cements a place in the Crossroads League tournament for Spring Arbor (2-3, 2-3), which can finish no lower than eighth: eight positions are available for next month's single-elimination event. Goshen (0-8, 0-6) remains in contention for the tournament as well.

The Maple Leafs continue their stretch of three matches in five days on Thursday with a match at third-place Huntington. First serve on the HU campus is set for 3 p.m.
