GOSHEN, Ind. – Goshen College head women's basketball coach Stephanie Miller continues to put together her 2013-14 recruiting class with the addition of Fort Wayne South Side's Lynnia Noel.

"We couldn't be more excited to sign Lynnia to play basketball for the Goshen College women's basketball program," Miller said.  "She has been a winner at every level of her career as well as been a winner in the classroom."

The 5-foot-7 guard was a team captain and point guard for two Summit Athletic Conference Championships.  Twice named to the All-SAC Teams, Noel was instrumental in leading South Side to a section and regional championship in 2013, taking the program to its first-ever state title game.

"It is apparent by her tremendous successes and through getting to know her and her family that Lynnia is always up for a challenge and that she will do what it takes to help our team grow, become an excellent student, and be a quality addition to the entire Goshen community," Miller continued.  "I expect she will add quickness, a strong basketball IQ as well as leadership skills, versatility as a scorer and passer and a strong-willed defensive minded player to our lineup."

Noel was also a captain and all conference selection for South Side's volleyball program.

"I chose Goshen because of the rich education I will receive and the love everyone showed me," Noel said of her decision.  "I am looking forward to player for the basketball team and working to reach my potential while helping build the program."

Noel will study Kinesiology at Goshen College with hopes to be a physical or occupational therapist.
