Big First Half By Host Marian Sinks Maple Leafs On The Road

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Host Marian University out muscled the Goshen College women's basketball team, cruising to a 90-54 Crossroads League victory Thursday night.

The Knights - receiving votes in the latest NAIA DII national poll - shot a sparkling 60% and held the Maple Leafs to 27% shooting in the first half to jump to a big 45-19 halftime cushion.  Goshen shot an improved 42% in the second half, but converted only 2-of-13 from beyond the arc on the night.

Freshman Jo'Mani Thomas was the high scorer for the Leafs with 13 points, while senior Sam Hawk and sophomore Jaime Stack each had nine. 

Rachel Turk led four Marian players in double figures with 18 points.  Kenzi Lindquist (13), Adirenne Sahm (13) and Lakan Hasser-Smith (10) also scored in double digits, while Natasha Marshall dished out an impressive 13 assists.

Goshen (2-14, 0-4 CL) continues action when they host Grace College at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
