GOSHEN, Ind. – For the third week this fall and second straight, a Goshen College volleyball player has been recognized with Springer Design Maple Leaf Athlete of the Week honors.
This time, sophomore Missy Mackowiak (North Liberty, Ind.) gets the nod with her award coming after helping the Maple Leafs to a 2-1 mark in Crossroads League play between October 14-20.
Mackowiak led the team in digs in all three matches, posting at least 20 in each contest. She had 22 in a win over Spring Arbor on Wednesday, 20 in the loss at Bethel on Friday, and 25 in a victory over Saint Francis on Saturday.
On the season, the sophomore is averaging 5.0 digs per set, good for second in the conference and is 21st in the nation with 537 total digs. She currently has a streak of 27-straight matches with at least 10 and already has 1,111 for her career.
