UPLAND, Ind. - The struggles continued for the Goshen College women's soccer team as host Taylor University defeated the Maple Leafs 5-0 in Upland Saturday night.
On their senior night, the Trojans scored four first-half goals and never looked back. The hosts finished with 14 shots totals, including 11 on frame, while the Leafs managed just three attempts with one being on target.
Taylor opened the scoring in the 13th minute with Kim Cleary and Molly Drooger each scoring within 10 seconds. Cleary added her second of the match in the 27th minute and Amanda Roden capped the first-half scoring with a 36th-minute strike. The lone second half tally came in the 64th minute when Drooger scored her second of the night.
Goshen (4-11, 0-6 Crossroads League) is now winless in its last 10 contests. They will cap the season with a home match against Marian University on Wednesday before taking trips to Spring Arbor University and Grace College.
