SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Goshen College men's golf team continued the fall portion of its schedule, playing in the Battle at Blackthorn hosted by Bethel College Monday and Tuesday.

Due to academic responsibilities and illness, the Maple Leafs were unable to post a complete team score.  The large event featuring nearly all of the Crossroads League programs, though, gave them a good glimpse of where they need to be prior to the conference championships in the spring.

Sophomore Ben Pollitt had another strong event, posting a par of sub-80 rounds.  He fired 77 on day one before posting a 78 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 155, just 12 strokes back of event champion Joar Bjelkholm of Ashford University.

Freshman Alejandro Genis showed significant improvement on the second day of action, trimming 10 strokes of his card.

Goshen will conclude its fall season by participating in the University of Saint Francis Invitational at Cherry Hill Golf Club on October 1-2.
