GOSHEN, Ind. – The Crossroads League Player of the Week award winners for the final full week of September have been announced and sophomore Caleb Longenecker becomes the first Goshen College men's soccer player to be honored this season.
Longenecker helped the Maple Leafs to a 2-0-1 mark and was selected as the League Offensive Player of the Week.
The Grayslake, Ill. native scored twice in a 4-0 victory over Bluffton University on Tuesday and then assisted twice in a 3-0 victory over Manchester College a night later. All told, he had a hand (foot) in four of Goshen's eight goals during the week.
Longenecker leads the team and is tied for third in the conference with five assists on the year. Mount Vernon Nazarene's Caleb Palumbo won the league's Defensive Player of the Week. For a full list of award winners, please visit the Crossroads League website.
