GOSHEN, Ind. – Sophomore Anika Baumgartner (Goshen, Ind.) has been named the Springer Design Maple Leaf Athlete of the Week for action taking place between September 10-16.
In their only match last week, Baumgartner was responsible for a pair of victories in the top spot of the Goshen lineup. She won 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 at No. 1 singles, while pairing with Maria Thomas for a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles.
Baumgartner's win in singles was her third straight atop the Maple Leaf rotation.
The Maple Leaf Athlete of the week is sponsored by Springer Design, Inc. and is chosen each Monday by a committee of Goshen College personnel.
