GOSHEN, Ind. – Visiting Saint Xavier University snapped Goshen's set win streak at 12, then handed them their first home defeat of the season Wednesday night.

The visitors used their height and experience to sweep the Maple Leafs 25-18, 27-25, and 25-22.  Six-foot senior Kayla Mullaney led the Cougars with 11 kills, while 6-foot-3 Marie Hackert was also in double figures with 10.

Senior setter Desiree Aramburu also had a stellar all-around night with 41 assists and 17 digs.

The biggest difference in the match was hitting percentage, with Saint Xavier winning the battle in each set and 21% to 12% overall.

Sophomores Sam Heberling and Jaime Stack led the Maple Leafs with eight and seven kills, respectively, while classmate Missy Mackowiak posted a match-high 21 digs.

"We need to work on our blocking and reading the hitters," head coach Jim Routhier explained.  "It was not our best match."

Goshen (4-5) has a full week off before they start Crossroads League play by hosting NAIA #11 Taylor University.
