GOSHEN, Ind. - Sophomore Goshen College softball player Christine Stubblefield (Chino Hills, Calif.) has been named Mid-Central College Conference Player of the Week and Springer Design Maple Leaf Athlete of the Week for her play between April 8-14.

In five games, the third baseman batted .625 with a slugging percentage of 1.063.  She had three multi-hit games, including a 9-for-10 stretch to help the Maple Leafs to a 4-2 week, all in MCC play.

In a 7-6 victory over Spring Arbor University on Tuesday, Stubblefield set new career highs in hits (4), doubles (2), and runs batted in (3).  She also helped spark a five-run rally in the seventh (coming back from 6-2 down) with a two-run double.  She ended the week with six runs scored, four doubles, a home run, and six RBIs.

The Maple Leaf Athlete of the week is sponsored by Springer Design, Inc. and is chosen each Monday by a committee of Goshen College personnel.
