GOSHEN, Ind. – Goshen College head volleyball coach Jim Routhier continued to add talent and depth to his 2012 recruiting class as he announced the addition of Wisconsin native Angela Dedering on Thursday.
Dedering was named All Fox Valley Association and all area after helping Neenah High School (Neenah, Wisc.) to a 32-10 record. The Rockets won the regular-season league title and were ranked in the top 20 in the state this fall.
"Angela is a very good athlete and I think will be a very versatile player for us," Routhier explained. "She is a strong defensive player as well as being a left-handed setter."
The 5-foot-9 setter tallied 889 assists, 68 kills, 49 service aces, and 32 blocks as a senior on way to being selected for the Tri-State All Star Game.
The daughter of Keith McCollum and Rinda Dedering, Angela plans on majoring in American Sign Language after starting at Goshen this fall.
Dedering and the Maple Leafs are slated to begin their 2012 season with a one-day home tournament with Marygrove University, Roosevelt University, and Rochester College on August 25.
