MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The first half of Mid-Central College Conference play officially came to a close for the Goshen College women's basketball team as they lost to host Mount Vernon Nazarene University 79-57 Wednesday night.
The Maple Leafs (3-18, 0-9 MCC) remain winless in conference despite their strongest road shooting performance of the season at 47.5%. The difference was in taking care of the ball and rebounding. Goshen had 28 turnovers and allowed 23 offensive rebounds to the Cougars who had 32 more field goal attempts (74-42) than the Leafs.
A pair of freshman both ended just one rebound short of double-doubles with Jaime Stack leading the team with 16 points and nine rebounds and Sierria Burlage posting 11 points and nine boards. Alexis Harkins led all scorers with 22 points for Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Goshen will be back at home on Saturday when they host Taylor University at 1 p.m.
